IE6 Splash Pages

May 29

You’re probably wondering where those went. The truth is, I never actually liked them that much. I made them in 20 minutes out of boredom, expecting maybe thirty people to see it, and fade into obscurity.

I don’t know why they got so big, and I don’t really care. For a few days, I was under the false impression that all this traffic was good for building up my rep as a designer. It wasn’t. It was just good for getting everybody that knew what Internet Explorer 6 was to follow me on Twitter. I got a tweet the other day from someone asking me, “how I made my own personal website”. That’s when I knew I was reaching the wrong audience.

This is a portfolio website. That’s it. It’s just something to show employers or colleagues when they ask about my work. This blog is just here to showcase recent stuff I’ve made that isn’t quite intense enough to make it into my full work section. This isn’t a place for memes. Maybe I’ll make a personal blog sometime where I’ll write/make stuff like that, but I don’t have any plans for that right now.

If you still want the splash pages, a little bit of googling will turn them up on other sites.
